The seventh instalment of AnalogueTrash’s popular Label Sampler series features a host of new and exclusive material, rarities, remixes, live recordings, and back catalogue highlights.
As always, this edition showcases the talent that the label family brings to the musical table, incorporating post-punk, electronica, ambient, synthpop, alt.pop, indie rock, industrial, dreampop, indie-electronica, and much more.
This bumper edition features all the label’s current artists, be it early signings such as Vieon, DEF NEON, Neonsol, Vain Machine, and Factory Acts, or more recent additions like Bjørn Felle, This Bliss, Friends of Our Youth and The Royal Ritual.
Listeners will find new material from PreCog, Zeropolis, Circuit3, Vain Machine, DeathBoy, Birdman Cult, VATSWAV, Flange Circus, and The Cowls; remixed tracks from The Frixion, Sandi Glowe, Kat Bryan, Le Fomo, and Murderers; as well as introductions to some of the label’s more recently signed artists.
AnalogueTrash’s extensive back catalogue gets an airing courtesy of ATOMZERO, Debris Discs, Factory Acts, Monitors, Spirits in the Pillar, and a previously unreleased version of Paragon Cause’s Think I’m Going Crazy Over You. Spray and Vieon are also present and correct, contributing new live versions of crowd favourites from recent performances.
Label co-owner Adrian Brian Thompson had this to say on what the sampler means to the label:
“In the year since the last sampler, a lot has changed but a lot has stayed the same. There are still not enough hours in the day, the UK is still a dumpster fire, and the music industry still doesn’t do small labels like ours any favours. But despite all that, I feel like we’re heading into 2024 stronger than ever. The label’s output remains consistently brilliant (OK, I’m biased, but still…) and we couldn’t ask for a better group of people to share this journey with.
“A personal highlight for me has been seeing so many of the label’s artists hitting the stage here and abroad. Vieon’s Inter-City tour was a truly joyful experience, with Kat Bryan joining the band on every date with a host of label family and friends supporting around the country. The response was incredible, and I can’t wait to do it again.
“I’m really proud of how we’ve assembled so many new tracks, remixes, live takes, and hidden gems for this edition of the sampler. Like the label as a whole, it’s packed with music with heart and soul, from a diverse range of artists who are fiercely individual, independent and supremely talented. I hope folks take the time to listen to the whole thing and discover something they love.”
The AnalogueTrash: Label Sampler Vol. 7 represents the next evolution of the series, highlighting how the label’s DIY attitude and a collaborative approach brings together artists across oceans, genres and backgrounds. That approach - allied with a firm eschewing of the mainstream - has been at the core of the label’s philosophy since its first release in 2014.
This compilation offers real insight into the depth and breadth of the creativity of the ever-expanding AnalogueTrash family, as the label’s owners, artists and crew look to ending its first decade as they started it: releasing music they love, because they love music.
